Historian of Indigenous dispossession Robert Lee (University of Cambridge, UK) discusses Indigenous lands and the “Land Grant” universities, including Cornell and Rutgers, that profited from the Morrill Acts (1862, 1890).

    Robert Lee is a lecturer in American History at the University of Cambridge and a fellow of Selwyn College. His research examines relationships between Indigenous dispossession and US state formation in the nineteenth century American West. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley, a land-grant university
